The assumption management module is where users define the assumptions and data to be used by the projections. This is where the actual data in those tables resides and provides a central location to manage multiple versions of tables with different values and assumptions.
The assumption management module is broken up into the following main sections.
Data Tables | Data tables contain any type of generic data that does not fit into one of the more specific tables below. |
Decrement Tables | Decrement tables are a special category of data tables that provide pre-defined layouts for common decrement table structures and improvement scales from industry tables. |
Scenario Tables | Scenario tables contain the economic scenarios to be used by the projections. These tables follow a specific structure defined by the Economic Scenario setup defined during Model Development. |
Assumption Sets | Assumption Sets provide a structure for grouping together specific data tables and decrement tables into a grouping for business or process purposes to make the selection of assumptions easier and quicker at run-time. |
Dynamic Sales Allocations | Dynamic Sales Allocations are groupings of products that will be used to dynamically sell new business liability model points during a projection. |
Investment Strategies | Investment Strategies define how assets are purchased and sold during a projection that includes dynamic disinvestment/reinvestment. |
Projection Templates | Projection Templates are groupings of projection configurations that can be used to convert into a Projection as a starting point to more easily set commonly run assumptions. |
