The Debug View provides a way to view and drill into specific calculations. It provides results from calculations in-line with the formulas that produced those results and also shows the results of intermediate calculations wherever possible.
The Debug View can be accessed from any Dashboard report in the reporting module. The Debug View supports all calculations at the Model Point, Portfolio, and Company levels. The Debug View is accessed by clicking on any result that shows up in the dashboards. This functionality is supported for System Dashboards as well as for custom dashboards that you have created.
However, the links will ONLY appear as long as the full context of the calculation can be determined. The following fields MUST be included in results query before links will appear:
|Dimension||Model Point Results||Portfolio Results||Company Results|
|Model Point Record #||X|
Thus, results that aggregate together multiple scenarios, portfolios, scenarios, variables or model points will not have links to the Debug View appear on the field, and will instead provide a drill through into the underlying records that make up the aggregate result you are viewing.
Also, if a particular dashboard tile contains filters those filters MUST BE populated with a single value for the links to work, even if there is only one possible value for the filter values on the current run. For example, if the projection contained only 1 product, many reports will still produce correct results even if the product filter selection is not populated. But the Debug View links will still not appear until the filter value for that lone product is selected and the dashboard has been refreshed.
The various boxes at the top of the Debug view provide options for navigating to different variables, products, portfolios, and time indexes. Clicking on these will provide additional navigation options as appropriate based on the context of whatever variable result you are currently viewing.
Clicking on the result value shown in the header of a calculation tile will drill into that result and refresh the page with the formula for the variable clicked on.
